NHS MLK day

NHS MLK day

Even with the new year, Defiance High Schools’ National Honors Society continues to volunteer nonstop. On January 16th, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, NHS will be contributing to a mass volunteering project.

Sunny Lloyd, the NHS president, explains the group has come up with seven volunteering ideas for the students to choose from. “MLK day is an awesome opportunity for NHS students to get out in the community and do good! We have seven community service projects this year that NHS students will spend 2 hours on during the day!”

Delaney Speidell, a DHS junior also a part of NHS, has picked to bake any kind of treat for the animals at the Defiance Humane Society. Speidell agrees that NHS’s MLK day project is a great opportunity to get students involved with the community.

Both Lloyd and Speidell are extremely excited about volunteering on MLK day. Speidell explains “I really enjoy serving and giving my time to the community and can’t wait to bake!” We hope all the students involved have fun helping out the community.
